Italy's foreign minister Luigi Di Maio will visit Albania on Wednesday where he will hold talks in Tirana with the country's premier Edi Rama and its president Ilir Meta, the foreign ministry said in a statement.
During the visit, Di Maio will also travel to areas of the country hit by a deadly earthquake last month and will meet representatives of the Italian business community in Albania, according to the statement.
Italy's civil protection agency scrambled teams of rescuers to Albania after the magnitude 6.5 quake struck the northwest of the country on 26 November, killing at least 51 people and injuring around 2,000.
